CarrierCheck

visit carriercheck.eu

A European logistics security platform that helps shippers and forwarders verify carriers before they hand over a load.

Rotterdam-based CarrierCheck B.V. combines carrier verification, risk scoring, daily fake-carrier alerts and shared incident data in one platform, helping logistics companies across Europe stop cargo fraud before it happens. CarrierCheck is a member of TAPA, the transported asset protection association.

Secure Truck Parking Network In Latvia

We are preparing the first network of EU-certified Safe and Secure Truck Parking Areas (SSTPA) in Latvia, along the Via Baltica (E67) and E22 corridors. An SSTPA is far more than a parking lot: it is a fenced, access-controlled site with 24/7 video surveillance, lighting, security staff, online booking and proper driver facilities, certified under Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/1012.

Demand is driven by EU rules and by cargo crime. The Mobility Package bans drivers from spending their regular weekly rest in the cab, and most cargo thefts in Europe happen while trucks are parked at unsecured locations. Under the TEN-T Regulation (EU) 2024/1679, member states must provide certified secure parking on average every 150 km of the core network by 2040. Yet Latvia has no verified certified SSTPA today, and the nearest one is in Lithuania, more than twice that distance from Riga.

Via Baltica is also one of the EU’s priority military mobility corridors, which makes secure parking dual-use infrastructure serving both civilian logistics and defence transport. Projects of this kind can be co-financed with EU funds through the Connecting Europe Facility and national cohesion programmes, with private partners and investors covering the remaining share.

Our role covers project preparation, financial structuring, investor sourcing and coordination with authorities, certification bodies and industry organisations. We see this model, combining EU regulation, cargo security and infrastructure investment, as a template for further projects across the Baltic region.

King Scallop Fishery In The English Channel

We are developing a commercial king scallop (Pecten maximus) fishing business in the English Channel, operating under-15-metre dredgers from a home port at Shoreham-by-Sea. The model is simple and proven: catch, store shell-on and sell directly to processors, with an onshore freezing unit added once the fleet is established. King scallop is a non-quota species in the UK, so access is managed through vessel licences, entitlements and effort regimes rather than catch quotas.

The under-15-metre class was chosen deliberately: these vessels fall outside the Western Waters days-at-sea regime, burn significantly less fuel and cost far less to acquire than larger or new-build boats. The programme is phased, starting with one proven vessel and adding the next only once the previous one has confirmed its real catch and sales figures. The plan builds towards a fleet of five vessels and a freezing plant producing half-shell and scallop meat.

Seasonal closures and weather downtime are built into the plan from day one, so it rests on realistic fishing days. The business is structured entirely in the UK, with a UK holding and operating company and management on site, and operations are led by a skipper with around 15 years of experience in the Channel scallop fishery. Our role covers project structuring, financial modelling, due diligence on vessels, licences and buyers, and sourcing investor capital.

AUDITORIUM

Integrated attendance tracking and facility management for universities.

AUDITORIUM is a digital system that gives universities accurate, real-time data on how their lecture halls are used and who attends them. Most institutions still record attendance manually or not at all, while audits, mobility programmes and quality assurance demand regular, reliable statistics. Without occupancy data, room planning and scheduling rest on guesswork.

The system combines RFID or QR check-in for students and lecturers with 3D/IR sensors that count people independently, then compares the two to produce automated, auditable and GDPR-compliant attendance records. A panel beside each room shows its status in real time (occupied, available or reserved), and management receives reports that help cut maintenance costs and plan renovation based on actual use.

AUDITORIUM integrates via API with Moodle, SAP and student information systems, and can link to smart locks and fire safety systems to locate people during an evacuation. Installation takes 2–3 hours per room with no wall drilling, and rollout follows four phases: a pilot room, IT integration, user training and full campus deployment. The system is developed and maintained by Prompt Ltd, a Riga-based IT company with more than 15 years of experience.

Automated attendance

RFID and QR identification cross-checked against sensor counts, so every record is accurate and auditable.

Room & building management

A register of buildings, halls, capacity and equipment, with reports that optimise space and reduce costs.

Open data & integration

Full API compatibility, PDF and CSV exports, event logs and real-time dashboards for management.
